Occupational Health and Safety Committee

The Myer FoundationMCMC's Occupational Health and Safety Committee is required under the Victorian Occupational Health and Safety Act. It is convened by the Manager, and has membership comprising representatives of the 3 Departments, the Manager, and the OHS Representative.

The Committee meets at least quarterly. Its key responsibility areas include:

  • Reviewing incident reports
  • Reviewing reports from depot and office inspections
  • Identifying potential improvements to procedures to improve safety and making recommendations

The Committee reports to the Executive Subcommittee via the Manager. Its agenda is based on the minutes from the previous meeting. Items not declared complete at the previous meeting are carried forward onto the agenda of the next meeting as matters arising. Additional matters raised get a new sequential number which lives on for the duration of the item. The standard agenda includes:

  • Present
  • Apologies
  • Approval of previous minutes
  • Matters arising from previous minutes
  • Incident reports (review incident reports received since the previous meeting)
  • Outcome of depot/office inspection carried out by Manager and OHS Rep using OHS Checklist
  • Other business
  • Next meeting

Minutes are taken, written up, circulated to members of the OHS Committee, to the Catchment Program Coordinator, to the Parkland Coordinator, to the Conservation Coordinator and to each member of the Executive Subcommittee on red paper.
