Storming for Cleaner Water is a combined project between Merri Creek Management Committee and Waterwatch with funding from Whittlesea City Council in partnership Darebin Creek Management Committee.
It is an environmental education program looking at stormwater and its effects on our local creeks including Merri Creek, Darebin Creek and EdgarsCreek.
Schools involved in this program will receive:
-
A stormwater presentation with displays.
-
A turn at Playing Drains and Fish Ladders (a special giant environmental boardgame).

What is Stormwater?
In urban environments stormwater is the main source of pollutions in our creeks. After a rain event all the water is washed down the stormwater drains on the edge of the road and out into the local creek. But the water carries with it any pollution that it picks up on the way, including litter, car oil, dog poo and much more.
