VicRoads is investigating another major freeway for Merri Creek. The Outer Metropolitan Ring Planning Study shows a new freeway from just west of Werribee, cutting between Melbourne Airport and Sunbury and joining the Hume Freeway just north of Kalkallo.

A freeway in the area indicated will add to the development pressures in the northern catchment of Merri Creek. It will clearly has the potential to have a substantial impact in other catchments. The catchment immediately to the west is that of Deep Creek in the Maribrynong catchment.

Illustrates more detail for the Outer Metropolitan Ring concept, including possible options for connecting arterial roads where the Outer Metropolitan Ring would pass near a major proposed industrial/business development in the Mickleham area. It is important that such developments are planned in the knowledge of the Outer Metropolitan Ring concept.
