About Friends of Wallan Creek

Friends of Wallan Creek aim to restore and enhance the environmental values of the Wallan Creek, a tributary of the Merri Creek, as it flows through the town of Wallan north of Melbourne.

Friends of Wallan Creek’s initial focus has been on weed removal, revegetation, and mulching work along Wallan Creek in Wallan Community Park, the reserve behind Wallan Scout Hall (along Watson Street). The extensive revegetation work that the Friends have undertaken in the park has involved the use of plants that are indigenous to the local area.

Friends of Wallan Creek calendar

The Friends of Wallan Creek calendar, on the left hand side of this page, will help you plan to get involved in our work around the Wallan Creek catchment.

Generally there is at least one work day per month.

On our work days we meet at the Wallan Scout Hall carpark on the corner of Windham and Watson St opposite the new Police Station in Wallan (Melway Map 249 F8).
