Thanks to Crowdfund donations patches of wildflowers have already been been planted. We invite YOU to help plant more wildflowers on 16 July, and to donate to Merri Creek's annual appeal to help further this important work.
On Sunday 16 July: meet at Cnr Glasgow Ave & Radford Rd Reservoir, on the east bank of the Merri Creek from 10am-12:30pm
Follow the flags to find us and help plant local wildflowers to support remnant patches of the endangered Matted Flax-lily, Dianella amoena. This planting expands on the original Crowd funded project, by encouraging Blue Banded Bees to pollinate these wildflowers.
It is funded by a Melbourne Water grant to MCMC and supported by Darebin Council. Phone Ray or Monica at MCMC 9380 8199. Parking may be available at Soccer Club Car Park in Broadhurst Ave, Melway 18 B3. Map
Please consider furthering this work through a tax-deductible donation to the Merri Creek Environment Fund.
The Merri Creek 2017 Special Appeal Project
Our major project for 2017 continues our ‘Planting up the Gaps’ theme. There are lots of habitat gaps still to fill along the Merri Creek’s 60kms, from its source at Heathcote Junction to where it joins the Yarra River in Collingwood.
Your donation, small or large will help improve native vegetation habitat along Merri Creek, its birds and bees, endangered wildflowers, and bring the creek back to life.
