2018 Merri Creek Special Appeal

How the funds will be used
Donations to the Merri Creek Environment Fund will help Merri Creek Management Committee to preserve environments where birds have already made their home, as well as to create new habitat to attract birds back to the creek environs. For instance, every year, Flame Robins (left) come down from the mountains to spend the winter in the grasslands such as Bababi Djinanang near Jukes Road in Fawkner; while the Superb Fairy-wren (right) loves the dense shrubby cover that MCMC creates along Merri Creek, where they can find insect food, shelter and nest sites.
Contributions are tax deductible and past donations have been very helpful in supporting the efforts to plant up habitat gaps along Merri Creek. Read how last year’s funds were used here. Whatever donation you are able to give will help us to give our birds the homes and habitats they need, so more can come home to the creek. Find out more about the Merri Creek Environment Fund here.
